Pastor's Message
What a wonderful Grateful Gathering we enjoyed on Sunday evening! The spirit was contagious; the food was better than any menu in Knoxville; and the fellowship was fun! THANKS to all who helped in the planning, cooking, decorating, serving, cleaning up, etc.! Someone said: ‘I even saw Lee Iglehart working.” And I saw John Meade acting like he was working.
The video that Alan Witt produced celebrates our church’s heritage as well as our present day ministry and helps us to begin to look to the future. It has received wide acclaim! It will be on our church’s website by next, so be sure to check it out at www.fountaincityumc.org if you missed it Sunday evening. If it weren’t for that first pastor in it, the video should probably go on YouTube.
In addition to the many comments I have heard, one person wrote an email to me that said in part: “Tonight's Grateful Gathering was truly a blessing! I looked around and saw so many different ages of people all enjoying each other. How thankful I am to have such a wonderful church home! My cup runneth over...God is good!!”
We voted unanimously in staff meeting on Tuesday morning to wish you a joyous, thankful and blessed Thanksgiving!
-- Jim
