Pastor's Message

There are many privileges of being a pastor at Fountain City United Methodist Church.  I only have to work on Sundays, am able to soak up all the wisdom of Jim Whedbee's 42 years of ministry experience, and am an insider to "the Ogle wisdom of life."  What else could a person need?

Seriously, I am very blessed.  I get the opportunity to work with a passionate and committed church staff and am blessed by the loving and supportive congregation members of FCUMC.  As we prepare for All Saints' Sunday, I am reminded of yet another blessing -- the saints of Fountain City United Methodist Church.  Over this past year, we have had 19 members of our church embrace the eternal home that God has provided for them.  I have been involved with several of the funeral services for these saints and I have always been blessed by walking with these families and offering words of faith and reminding them of God's comfort and strength.  It never ceases to amaze me to hear the stories of life and faith that families share during this time.

I encourage you to be in worship on Sunday as we recognize these saints and are challenged to look at how we are embracing our own life of faith.  See you on Sunday!

Attention IHN Laundry Volunteers

It's that time again! FCUMC hosts the IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) families November 6-13, and we need your help with laundry. Please look for your labeled bag in the stairwell outside the elevator on Sunday, November 13, and return the clean, folded laundry by November 20. If you'd like to "join the ranks," please call Marie Perleman at 688-7728. As always, your help is GREATLY appreciated!

Go Crazy with Corn!

Help us collect corn for the Fountain City Ministry Center for the Thanksgiving holidays.  Bring in your 15oz size cans of corn now through Sunday, November 13, to help stock the shelves for the winter at the ministry center. Boxes will be set up in the hallway outside Wesley Hall for collections. You can also stop by Food City or Kroger on November 12 to take part in the corn drive.
